Connecting

Here is how the program is set up:

Every week, you will have access to tasks to
help you stay focused and keep your eyes on your goals.

Week 1: We will focus on how to effectively use visual tools in your home, so that your child can make more sense of his surroundings.

You will receive:

  • Weekly Training Tasks to help keep you focused and on-task.
  • Visuals that you can print out from your home computer to assist your child with independence and self-help skills.
  • Worksheets to help you figure out what visuals will work best with your child and family. Get ready to feel less overwhelmed.
  • A Visual Tools Video where I help you to understand where you need visuals the most in your home and community. I will even show you some customized visuals that continue to work year after year with the families I serve.
By becoming familiar with visual tools, you will be setting your child up for success.

Parents often report that this simple step of using the right visuals has made a dramatic difference in turning a stressful home into a more peaceful one.

Just think about what you and your child will experience:

  • You will take the guesswork out of your rules and your child will finally get what it is that you are saying to him.
  • You will experience peace in knowing that your child understands your expectations.
  • You will witness your child completing tasks that you never thought he could.
“Along our journey of finding help and answers, I met Jennifer Julie-and-Orin-TestimonialLingle. Her energetic personality and compassionate demeanor drew me to her in an instant. I was excited by her knowledge and her mission to help families like mine learn how to work with our special needs children to the best of our abilities. I can say with confidence that Zev has grown up to be the confident, loving, social and smart boy he is today because of Jen’s guidance.”
Julie and Orin, Parents

Week 2: We will focus on organizing your home to meet your child’s sensory needs.

You will have access to:

  • Weekly Training Tasks to help keep you focused and on-task.
  • A recording of a group Q&A call that was held with me, Jennifer Lingle, M.Ed., during our Pilot of the Peace of Mind Program. You will get to hear the answers to common questions that parents, just like you, have asked. I will help you find effective ways to replace inappropriate sensory seeking behaviors.
  • Worksheets to help guide you through setting up a sensory friendly home environment where your child can thrive.
  • A recording of a teleseminar training on sensory strategies where I walk you through the steps involved in creating a sensory friendly home environment.

Just think about what you and your child will experience:

  • You will understand why it is that your child climbs under couch cushions and jumps on the bed.
  • You will learn alternatives to sensory seeking behaviors, like when he chews on his shirt or mouths toys.
  • You will witness a transformation in your home because you will understand what it is that your child needs.
teresa-becerra-testimonial“Ms. Jen is amazing and has a very special talent for working with our children. My son has progressed so much over the years and we are so very thankful to Ms. Jen for helping him achieve so many milestones.”
Teresa Becerra, Autism Society of Miami-Dade President and Parent

Week 3: We will focus on fostering independence and self-help skills in your home (including chores, getting dressed, brushing teeth, and independently completing tasks).

You will receive:

  • Weekly Training Tasks to help keep you focused and on-task.
  • Actual checklists that will assist your child with completing tasks and chores. You can print these strategies right in your home.
  • A visual tool to help you set up an “independent area” in your home. I will walk your through this process step-by-step. You can finally go the bathroom in peace, knowing that your child is gainfully occupied!
  • A video training focusing on independence and self-help skills. Learn all about mistakes you might be making that could be holding your child back.

Just think about what you and your child will experience:

  • Your child will finally complete tasks without you having to walk him through every step.
  • You will get to go to the bathroom in peace knowing that your child is gainfully occupied.
  • Your child will gain confidence because he will be completing tasks on his own.

Leigh-Ann-testimonial“I knew that I was a good parent, but parenting someone on the spectrum needs new rules and techniques. Jennifer taught me the importance of setting goals for Andy and gave me strategies to achieve them. Within the first month of working together he was well on his way to being potty trained (after 7 years) and also sleeping in his own bed. This independence he gained has fostered further appropriate development. I now also feel confident when out in public that I have strategies for controlling his behavior. In addition, she also showed me how to organize his toys in a way that made him begin to play with them.

Jennifer is very good at what she does and is truly making a difference! Working with her is an investment, but one cannot really put a price on parenting that works.”

Leigh Anne Coddington, Parent

Week 4: During our final week together, we will focus on creating an effective behavior system in your home.

You will receive:

  • Weekly Training Tasks to help keep you focused and on-task.
  • A recording of a group Q&A call that was held with me, Jennifer Lingle, M.Ed., during our Pilot of the Peace of Mind Program. I will help you create a behavior system that actually works in your home. You will also have the opportunity to listen to other families, hear what they are going through, and be fully supported on your journey.
  • A guide of important steps you need to take to help you create effective rules and consequences in your home. You will also receive a list of reinforcers that continue to work with my students year after year.
  • A recording of a teleseminar training on how to handle behaviors, meltdowns, tantrums, and overwhelm. You are going to feel so relieved after this training call.

Just think about what you and your child will experience:

  • You will not be afraid to go to restaurants and out in the community.
  • You will stop being afraid of triggering your child’s meltdowns.
  • You will better connect with your child because you will be working with him and not against him.
